Magnet turns 40 with a PoP!

October is our birthday month, and to celebrate, Magnet will be treating staff and clients to an exciting “balloon pop”. Clients are greeted by a huge balloon arch at the reception area of our Head office in Durban. They are then invited to choose and pop a balloon from the arch, to reveal their mystery prize. Every day over the birthday month of October, three staff members have a turn to pop a balloon from one of three balloon columns found around the building. Magnet can make a difference!

As part of our on-going charity initiative, “Tin Tuesday”, the Magnet Accounts Department collected an exceptional 442 cans of food over the month of September for Feed The Babies Fund. Yesterday, representatives of the Accounts Department Raakhe Chetty and Lorraine Govender accompanied Marketing Assistant, Samantha MacDonald, to the charity situated in York Avenue, Glenwood.  Magnet’s marketing manager, Lyndi Roberts, recently visited Tiger Brands on the day of their launch of the new Jelly Tots slab. Lyndi met with Victor Dube and Suren Pahlad, who gave her an exclusive “first-look” at the new product. “The white chocolate Jelly Tot slab is the newest addition to Tiger Brands’ extensive range of Beacon sweets and chocolates. These slabs we hold are as fresh as it gets, produced on the day and received straight from the packaging room”, says Lyndi.

2012 Electra Mining Exhibition

Over the week of 10-14 September representatives Peter Gaal and Shaun Philpott, of Magnet and Energywise respectively, attended the Electra Mining trade exhibition in Jo’burg. The exhibition is ranked as the second biggest mining show in the world, and attracts visitors in the region of 35 000 across the construction, mining and power generation industries.
